{"id":7827,"date":"2020-07-16T10:41:17","date_gmt":"2020-07-16T17:41:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cowlesmountain.com\/Travels\/?p=7827"},"modified":"2020-07-16T10:45:41","modified_gmt":"2020-07-16T17:45:41","slug":"upgrades-to-the-bus-prior-to-our-winter-trip-to-the-desert-and-summer-2020-trip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cowlesmountain.com\/Travels\/2020\/07\/16\/upgrades-to-the-bus-prior-to-our-winter-trip-to-the-desert-and-summer-2020-trip\/","title":{"rendered":"Upgrades to the Bus prior to our Winter Trip to the Desert and Summer 2020 trip"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>I had quite a long list of changes needed when we got home from Alaska last Fall and I started earnestly on them in November.<\/p>\r\n<p><br \/><strong>The list:<\/strong> <br \/>Replace the absorption fridge with a residential electric model. <br \/>Replace the lead acid batteries with Lithium Ion batteries. <br \/>Double up on the amount of solar panels &amp; Controllers. <br \/>Replace the Smart Battery Sense (SBS) with newer Long range SBS. <br \/>Swap out the uncomfortable Living room chairs with Theater Seating.<br \/>Add a battery monitor with Bluetooth capability.\u00a0 <br \/>Hook it all up with a Raspberry Pi to upload all the Solar and Battery information to an internet web page. <br \/>Replace the bedroom TV with a slightly smaller one to fit the space better.<br \/>Move that larger TV to over the windshield, make a heavy duty frame to hold it.<br \/>Install a second cargo bay rolling tray<br \/>Install a shelf over that tray in cargo bay for more storage space. <br \/>Install a weather station<br \/>New Windshield<br \/>Replace windshield camera that died during Alaska trip. <br \/>Replace all window shades with new MCD day\/night roller shades.<\/p>\r\n<p>Replace the drivers console tray with new cherry one.<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>Geez, we will be much poorer when done.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had quite a long list of changes needed when we got home from Alaska last Fall and I started earnestly on them in November.
