{"id":4853,"date":"2018-10-03T17:00:50","date_gmt":"2018-10-04T00:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cowlesmountain.com\/Travels\/?p=4853"},"modified":"2018-10-03T10:24:12","modified_gmt":"2018-10-03T17:24:12","slug":"driving-to-silver-city-nm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cowlesmountain.com\/Travels\/2018\/10\/03\/driving-to-silver-city-nm\/","title":{"rendered":"Driving to Silver City NM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We got a late start as we didn&#8217;t want to spend too much time in the desert heat.\u00a0\u00a0 We drove all the way to Dateland, AZ, which is halfway between Yuma and Gila Bend.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The campground was far enough off the freeway that you could only see the vehicles, but not hear them.\u00a0\u00a0 You could barely hear the trains go by as they were about 100 feet closer than the highway.\u00a0\u00a0 Even though there was a grade crossing maybe 1\/3rd of the mile away, we never heard a train horn, just the low rumbling from the distant trains.<\/p>\n<p>It was HOT in Dateland, 104 in the shade.\u00a0 We plugged into that 50 amp circuit immediately to get those AC&#8217;s online!
