{"id":2152,"date":"2017-08-09T15:40:04","date_gmt":"2017-08-09T22:40:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cowlesmountain.com\/Travels\/?p=2152"},"modified":"2017-08-09T15:40:04","modified_gmt":"2017-08-09T22:40:04","slug":"heading-toward-niagra-falls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cowlesmountain.com\/Travels\/2017\/08\/09\/heading-toward-niagra-falls\/","title":{"rendered":"Heading toward Niagra Falls.."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We got a late start for a longer drive today to right outside Sandusky, Ohio.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It was mostly freeway so fairly uneventful.\u00a0\u00a0 Lots of road construction in Michigan and Ohio.\u00a0\u00a0 Got to go thru my first EZ-Pass toll booths today. \u00a0[A big thank you to Connie for going through all our mail and sending the transponder out!!] \u00a0The arm went up on the second one,\u00a0 the first one was already up.\u00a0\u00a0 No indication it took our money,\u00a0 no lights at all. \u00a0 I guess the arm going up when leaving the turnpike was a good sign.\u00a0 I got onto my IPASS account and there is no activity yet.\u00a0\u00a0 I guess electronic transactions take a while for the EZ-Pass folks.\u00a0 Maybe they use sneaker.net. \u00a0\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>We just ordered pizza for delivery to the campsite&#8230; It&#8217;s been a long time between pizza&#8217;s..\u00a0 Maybe April?\u00a0\u00a0 Geez.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cowlesmountain.com\/Travels\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/NiagaraFalls005.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-2162\" src=\"http:\/\/cowlesmountain.com\/Travels\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/NiagaraFalls005-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cowlesmountain.com\/Travels\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/NiagaraFalls005-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/cowlesmountain.com\/Travels\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/NiagaraFalls005-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>About 60 miles east of our overnight was Cleveland.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t imagine the factory of sadness town would be so nice looking. \u00a0[I was bummed it was too far to go to Michael Symon&#8217;s restaurant downtown!]<\/p>\n<p>The second leg of the trip was about as long as the first day&#8217;s but at least we ended up on Grand Island next to Niagara Falls.\u00a0\u00a0 As we got into the park, it started to pour,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/cowlesmountain.com\/Travels\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/NiagaraFalls010.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-2167\" src=\"http:\/\/cowlesmountain.com\/Travels\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/NiagaraFalls010-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cowlesmountain.com\/Travels\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/NiagaraFalls010-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/cowlesmountain.com\/Travels\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/NiagaraFalls010-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a> I almost thought it was hailing, it sounded like hail, but it didn&#8217;t look like it.\u00a0\u00a0 It&#8217;s always fun setting up in the rain.\u00a0\u00a0 Just finding the site in the downpour was a challenge, and of course it was a back-in site.\u00a0 Pull thru&#8217;s on rainy days are a godsend.<\/p>\n<p>This campground is very, very nice!
